Shannon's Guide

Restaurants, Apres Spots, Coffee Shops, and More

EAT

For healthy, eco-conscious, and delicious restaurants, I enjoy these six restaurants

  • Terra Firma’s Kitchen - For organic farm-to-table, incredible creations, and Revelstoke’s best sourdough, this is where it’s at.

  • Kawakubo - Happy to cater to dietary preferences and always on point with presentation, this is the spot for beautiful, tasty sushi.

  • Quartermaster Eatery - A chic contrast of Japanese/Scandinavian-inspired design meets heritage building, the ambiance and decor here will draw you in while the organic, local-forward, and rustic American/Argentinean meals will keep you coming back. The extensive cocktail selection and stunning bar doesn’t hurt either.

  • Woolsey Creek Bistro - While the decor is more cozy than chic, the tasty creations feature local flavour and ethical sourcing, while the extensive wine list may have you leaving with a new favorite.

  • The Taco Club - Head to their website for online order and delivery, or dine in. Either way, this is the spot for a burrito bowl and margarita.

  • Main Street Cafe - Quaint little heritage cafe with wonderful breakfast options.

  • La Baguette - With locations in town and at the base of the slopes, La Baguette is a local favourite for soup, sandwich, salad, and pizza.

  • Kevin’s Kitchen - For authentic and tasty Chinese food.

SIP

If you’re able to pry yourself away from the woodstove at Spruce Tip Lodge, try these apres-worthy spots.

  • Monashee Distillery - Named Canada’s best apres distillery by Forbes, the cozy vintage loft vibes, bespoke craft cocktails, and selection of locally-sourced organic spirits are worth writing home about. The award-winning gin smells like Revelstoke alpine, as its made with locally foraged ingredients, while their cinnamon liqueur and big mountain creamer smell like holiday spirit.

  • Bierhaus - This is where you’ll find the greatest variety of beer, cider, and even kombucha on tap. Try one of the salads made with local organic greens and unique, flavourful toppings.

  • Mt. Begbie Brewery - Just a few minutes East of Revelstoke, Mt. Begbie Brewery overlooks the town of Revelstoke, featuring a large patio with front row seats to Mt. Begbie, tasters, and award-winning beer brewed with local mountain water. Local Greenslide Cattle Co. finishes their grass-fed beef with the spent grains.

CAFFEINATE

The espresso machine at Spruce Tip Lodge makes a splendid coffee you can sip from comfort and cozy while you watch the snow stack up. But if you want to grab one in town, these are my favourite coffee shops.

  • Dose - Excellent coffee, lunch bowls, gf/df dessert options, and sense of community.

  • The Modern - Delightful coffee, lunch specials, and wide range of baked sweets.

  • Revelstoke Winter Market - This market takes place at the Rec. Centre every second Saturday from 11-4pm

  • Southside - Closest grocery store, low on organic fresh vegetables but carries a surprising selection of eggs, butter, cheese, organic dips, dressings, and snack foods.
